Senior Analog Design Engineer (PLL)

Description:

The successful candidate will serve as a senior PLL design engineer and design owner for multiple space product lines.  The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of phase lock loop designs and development including system level design and definition, circuit design, detailed simulation, stress derating and worst case analysis.  Will work in a team environment for all phases of design related activity including proposal participation, establishment of system/subsystem requirements, design and development through engineering model testing, excellent troubleshooting skills, and finally production release.  Prepare and present engineering concepts and data for internal design reviews and customers, PDRs and CDRs.  Estimate schedules and budgets (BOEs) for proposals and internally funded development.  Support internal peer design reviews, performing worst case analyses, and breadboard through engineering model test delivery of flight units.  Must be able to complete design/project goals with little or no supervision.

Required Experience:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 15 or more years of industry experience in L, S, C, X and ka-band frequency bands synthesis experience.
  • Frequency synthesis design or system analysis.
  • MSEE and 10 years space hardware experience desired.
  • Must have experience in systems engineering with strong RF design and digital communications background, RF and mixed signal circuit theory, phase lock loops, test equipment expertise, design and development process controls, and proposal support.
  • Must have excellent bench level/commercial equipment and troubleshooting experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

Desired experience (but almost required):

  • Design experience for Satellite application is desired.
  • Experience with simulation platforms such as Agilent ADS, MathCAD or equivalent software is desired.
  • Familiarity in synthesizer design implementation in receivers, transmitters and/or transponders at X/Ku/ka Bands.
  • Familiarity with various modulation formats (PM, BPSK, QPSK, FM).

This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.  An active Secret or Top Secret clearance at time of hire is desired, but not required.
