Job Responsibilities

As a Cloud Security Engineer, your focus will be to ensure the security and availability of our client’s ever-growing cloud footprint. You will be a critical member of the IT Security team directly contributing to projects spanning multiple technical areas, including: cutting edge information security technologies, enterprise level architecture and security frameworks. You will be involved early-on in the information technology design process. Our dlient’s private and public cloud footprint is quickly expanding. You will work with a variety of engineering disciplines and distributed teams to provide guidance during each step of their cloud technology lifecycle.  The goal is the construction of a global, enterprise-wide, secure technology platform. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Defining, developing and validating creative standards, policies, and solutions to meet business needs for functional, security, and regulatory requirements
  • Automating security solutions leveraging tools available in cloud platforms
  • Using excellent documentation and communication skills to allow easier adoption of the defined security policies and procedures
  • Collaboration with internal IT and Security staff and other business areas to establish and enforce IT security best practices, information protection objectives, process improvements and effective IT security controls

Your analytical and critical thinking skills, along with your training and experience, will provide you the ability to understand security concerns and risks from both technical and business perspectives and allow you to secure and protect business critical operational systems and our rapidly developing cloud infrastructure.

Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, security architectures, and relevant standards
  • Strong background in Information Security concepts
  • Secure software design
  • Network security
  • Risk, vulnerabilities, and threats
  • Patient and excellent communicator
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with several languages, at least one in {C/C++, Java, Go, Ruby, Python, Clojure, Scala}
  • Enthusiasm for adapting to new languages and frameworks
  • Linux system administration
  • Familiar with networking and protocols such as TCP, HTTP/HTTPS, IPSEC, BGP, VLANs
  • US Citizenship
  • Available to travel up to 25%
