Lead Analysis (Structural and Composite) Engineer
OVERVIEW
Our client is a leading provider of mechanical engineering services across a broad range of industries. They service their
clients with advanced mechanical design, analysis, optimization, test, and prototype development solutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Perform as hands-on lead engineer, mentoring or leading (depending on level of experience) a small project team
• May create finite element models using appropriate tools for the job
• Verifies that material selections and parts are appropriate for expected loads & environments
• Assist in redesign of areas not meeting load & environment requirements
• Leads and presents findings to the project team, as well as company or customer
• Creates reports to document analysis results and conclusions
• Will travel to customer for on-site work for majority of time with remaining portion telecommutable
• Contributes to the overall success and quality of services/deliverables
• Documents work using Microsoft Word or PowerPoint
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering field and/or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 8-18 years of work experience in the mechanical engineering field
• Able to apply engineering principles and techniques to solve a variety of problems
• Able to prepare proposals and presentations and assist with sales meetings as necessary
• Able to perform computer-aided design or analysis and provide project oversight concurrently
• Experience and/or expertise in structural/composite engineering along with either vibration response of dynamic
systems or Finite Element Analysis of aerospace or other complex systems
• Extensive industry experience and/or relationships in one of the following areas is highly desirable: Aerospace,
Aeronautics or Composite Structures
• Experience and/or expertise with one or more commercial mechanical analysis tools is such as NASTRAN, FEMAP or
other widely used commercial code
• Must be eligible to obtain US government security clearance
•The successful candidate must demonstrate or possess excellent communication and time management skills and must be able to work in a team.
